This field trip is open to all 9-12th grade students enrolled in a Pennsbury HS Choir. The cost of the trip is $304, but the first deposit of $100 is not due until October 13th. If you have any questions, please contact Miss Strauss.

James D. Moyer, Choral Director jmoyer@pennsburysd.org

Mr. James D. Moyer has been teaching at Pennsbury HS for 25 years.  During this time he has led the PHS choirs to major performances in both the US and Europe.  He holds degrees from Westminster Choir College and the University of Oklahoma. He is also the co-author of the widely used choral music textbook "A Conductor's Guide to Choral/Orchestral Repertoire" published by GIA Music. 


Lindsey Strauss, Choral Director

Lindsey graduated from Pennsbury High School in 2001 and earned a B.S. in Music Education, a B.A. in Vocal Performance from Lebanon Valley College, and a master's degree in Choral Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. She also served as Choral Director and Music Theory Teacher at North Stafford High School in Stafford, Virginia from 2005-2014. She was honored to be named "Teacher of the Year" in 2010.

Lindsey is currently serving as a Choral Director at Pennsbury High School where she directs several choirs, is the Music Director for the Annual Spring Musical Production and is the Artistic Director of the Pennsbury Community Chorus. She resides in Yardley, PA with her two sons Benjamin and Jackson.



Josh Suslak, Collaborative Pianist and Vocal Instructor

Josh joined the Pennsbury Choral staff in 2020 as Accompanist and Vocal Teacher. He graduated from the Eastman School of Music and University of Rochester with degrees in Music Education and Brain and Cognitive Sciences. Outside of school, Josh is the organist at the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville as well as a freelance pianist and accompanist across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York. Prior to joining Pennsbury, he was the Singer Musicianship Coordinator and Accompanist for the Commonwealth Youthchoirs, he has served as a Staff Pianist at Westminster Choir College, Rider University, and Rowan University, and he was the accompanist for the American Boychoir School. His work has taken him on international tours to China, Scotland, Austria, Italy, Germany, Lithuania, Russia, Poland, and Slovenia. Apart from his main concentration in classical piano, Joshua enjoys playing jazz, rock, pop, and musical theater music.  

Derek Cressman, Music Theory and Technology

Derek Cressman graduated from Westminster Choir College of Rider University in 2003 with a bachelors in Music Education and from Teacher’s College of Columbia University in 2009 with a Master of the Arts in Music Education. Mr. Cressman has been teaching In Pennsbury since 2004.  He taught at William Penn Middle School until January of 2021 when he moved to teach Music Theory and Music Technology at Pennsbury High School.  A “retired” church musician,  Mr. Cressman was the director of music at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Trenton, NJ where he directed vocal and Handbell choirs. 


For several summers, Mr. Cressman taught elective classes at the Susquehanna Summer Choral Institute.  Before that, Mr. Cressman was the music director for the Westminster Middle School Music Theatre Camp for five summers. In his spare time Mr. Cressman enjoys cooking, baking, crosswords, gardening, reading, gaming and listening to an eclectic assortment of podcasts.
